Randall honor dinner, concert raises money for Backpacks for Kids

VOLUNTARY MUSICIANS: Marese Mitchell performs during the Backpacks for Kids benefit. The program, meal and entertainment were all provided by a voluntary effort initiated by Eliza Gregory and the late Jim Randall.

Approximately 80 guests filled the Goldendale Grange Hall for the Backpacks for Kids Benefit Dinner and Concert on Saturday, April 27. The benefit was hosted completely by volunteers, from the board members in the kitchen, to the ladies serving the guests, to the performers. Eliza Gregory, who put the event together, stated, “I think Jim [Randall] would have been proud. I was really proud of all of them.”

The dinner itself was put together by members of the Backpacks for Kids board and served by young volunteers from the local middle school and high school. Ron Ingraham, one of the guests exclaimed, “The food was very good!” Another, Adar Israel said, “It was excellent! The food...
