Flossie Pearl Warner died May 6, 2013, at the age of 96, at Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale, WA.

Pearl was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, to Charles Edgar and Hattie Foster. Pearl had two brothers and seven sisters.

Pearl grew up on her parents’ farm near Cleo Springs, Oklahoma. At the age of 21, she married Claude Henry Warner, in Oklahoma. Her husband, Claude, died in 1980, in Marysville, Calif., at the Ride Out Hospital.

The story of her life, after marrying Claude, could have been taken from the pages of, “The Grapes of Wrath,” by John Steinbeck. They moved to California with other family members in search of work. This was in the time of the Dust Bow...
