Poultry processing plant opens in Centerville

 


This week Washington State Department of Agriculture inspectors gave approval for Little Farms, LLC to begin processing chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, pheasants, rabbits, emu, and ostrich.

Those who raise birds and want to sell to restaurants, specialty food stores, farmers’ markets and grocery stores in the State of Washington now have a facility for processing.

Oregon producers can use the facility as well, with limitations the same as for Washington producers using ODA approved facility. Oregon producers can sell their birds in the state of Washington; however, they will not be able to sell them in Oregon as this is a WSDA certified facility.
