Timberwolves shut out of field events, send runners to State meet as Cameron sweeps sprints

RUNNING TO STATE: Goldendale’s Briley Cameron beat River View speedsters to win the 100 meters.

Consistency has been the ally of Briley Cameron through this track season. The Goldendale junior has raced in 22 sprints this year and has been the picture of consistency…consistent in his compact style of running, consistent in his times and consistent in his finishes. Cameron has run his race in every event and more times than not, he has finished first. He did it twice last Friday when it counted most, winning the 100 meters and 200 meters to lead the Timberwolves to the State 1A track and field meet in Cheney this weekend.

Cameron was sixth in his first race of the year, the 100 meters at The Dalles Wahtonka, on March 16. Since then he has won eight of 10 races in the 100 meters and...
