Tractor pull a 'moving' experience

A wide variety of tractor enthusiasts took part in the annual Vintage Tractor Pull, held last weekend north of Goldendale on Joe Sellers’ track. Five youth and 20 adult entries competed in tractor and truck divisions over the two-day event.

Fred Suhr was the big winner, taking first place on both days in three events. Suhr won the 3,500 pound division and 4,000 pound division on an Allis Chalmers. He also won the 4,500 pound division on a John Deere B.

The longest pull of the event was 284 feet by Glen Carrigan on a John Deere tractor in the 5,500 pound division. The pull came on day two on a firm track, thanks to the Saturday night rain.
