County loses land rezoning case

 


Klickitat County illegally gave the right to individual land owners to zone up their land to a level that constituted invalid spot zoning, according to a ruling late last month by a Clark County Superior Court judge and reported Monday by the Vancouver Columbian.

The ruling blocks the rezoning of more than 1,000 acres of land along the White Salmon River.

The Columbian reported that Judge Barbara Johnson ruled Klickitat County did not follow required rules and proper review when it converted large areas of farm and forestland to residential use. That land conversion opened the way for new developments at Husum and BZ Corner.

At press time, there was no word from Klickitat County officials...
