GHS students bring home trophies

Matthew and Michael Blomquist, Miller and Will White, and Ben Wooden attended the largest-ever annual National Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference in Orlando, Fla., from June 28 through July 2. More than 5,500 students and educators were in attendance. Five Goldendale High School (GHS) students competed in two of the 60 competitive events offered and placed in the top ten of both events. Goldendale’s team was accompanied by mentor Dennis Blomquist and parents John and Laurie White on the five-day journey.

TSA Vex Robotics competition was the main event of the conference for the boys, who worked all year in Matt Merfeld’s robotics class at GHS and after school building...
