City hears on projects, trail, fire truck, and dangers of social media

 


Monday night’s city council meeting was brief but busy, with the session open to the public lasting barely 20 minutes. The main points of focus were in regard to the city fire department’s long standing need for a new firefighting brush truck and the final phases of completion for the ongoing Brooks Street construction project. Council Member Guy Theriault and Police Chief Rick Johnson were absent.

After agenda approvals were made, Public Works Director Karl Enyeart made his department report to the council. He briefly discussed progress on the pavement overlay soon to take place in the shaved-down section of Columbus Street, where it connects with Brooks. Paving work there is planned...
