GPS develops leadership, self-managers

The Goldendale Way

 


On their way to recess, a few students stop by the equipment box to pick up supplies. They will need a green vest, a garden trowel and a 36” grabber. These are GPS landscapers. At Goldendale Primary School we have a garden on the playground, and these students have the job of taking care of the plants and sitting area.

These students are self-managers. That means that they have demonstrated to their teachers and others that they are able to be responsible. It means that they show respect, solve their problems, and make good decisions. They wear a button all day signifying to others that they have earned this extra duty.
