County Fair sets the goal for 4-H and FFA projects

 


Every year 4-H members and Future Farmers of America (FFA) members alike work on agricultural projects to showcase at the Klickitat County Fair. And this year is no exception. Tiana Watson, showed sheep for the second year in 4-H. Then there’s Jace Enwards who has been in 4-H for five years showing pigs, and this was his first year showing a steer through FFA.

Watson, who is 10 years old showed a wether lamb she got, a Suffolk cross, in June, which is when she began her project. To get ready for the fair, she had to learn how to care for the sheep, how to show it, and how to shear the sheep. She fed her sheep alfalfa hay and grain in pellets and corn.
