Berry pickers and back to school means fall is here

Trout Lake News

With school back in session, cool temperatures, and berry pickers abounding, Trout Lake feels like fall. Labor Day is another mark of the season and it wouldn’t be complete without the annual Trout Lake Rummage Sale!

This year’s sale, which benefits the Trout Lake School scholarship program raise approx. $19,600. Yet another banner year! This large scale fund raising endeavor was tirelessly worked on by 175 plus volunteers. Participants include community members, students, and student athletes from the Trout Lake School. The organizers of this event would like to extend a special thanks to the Brian McCuiston family for allowing the event to be held on their property.

The next senior meal by Trout Lake Care, Inc. (TLC) will be in two weeks, as usual the second Thursday of the month, Sept. 12. Doors open at 4 p.m. and dinner is served at 5 p.m. in the Trout Lake School multipurpose room. Everyone is welcome. The recommended donation is $3.50 for seniors (60 and over) and their spouses; everyone else $6.50.
