Pirates break into win column at Sundome Festival

It was a rough start to the Lady Pirates’ season, facing Nooksack Valley in the opening round of pool play at the Sundome Festival, last Friday. The Pioneers kept Bickleton from reaching double digits in the opener, 25-3, but the team rebounded through the day and finished the tournament on a winning note.

Nooksack Valley, a 1A school, completed the sweep with a 25-17 win before Bickleton took the court against Napavine. It was a better match-up for 1B Bickleton against the 2B Tigers, even though Napavine swept Nooksack Valley in the first round of pool play.
