GHS students Gear Up for their future

Future Engineers: Goldendale High School freshmen, Nadia Smith and Skyler Woodruff got a glimpse into their possible future at the UW Early Engineering Institute. Their trip to the Institute was paid for by a Gear Up Grant.

Two Goldendale students attended the UW Early Engineering Institute this summer to work with faculty and staff there developing math and algebra skills and exploring the world of engineering.

Ninth graders Nadia Smith and Skyler Woodruff were able to attend the four day Institute completely free of cost due to the Gear Up grant that’s currently in place in the Goldendale School District. They travelled with other Gear Up students from the Yakima Valley and stayed in the dorms on the UW campus.
