Keep reading the article to understand the severe risk to our community if the re-evaluation of critical hospitals by the Obama Administration results in the closure of KVH. How long does it take to get to The Dalles' hospital? I would think even in an ambulance once they traverse multiple highways, hills, stop signs, etc., that the time would be at least 30 minutes or close to that. In a Life or death situation where minutes count, I predict death if that's our closest hospital. Studies I have read relate mortality rates directly in association with distance from a hospital.
