Lady Wolves breeze through league matches without a loss

FRESHMAN POWER: Ocean Bryan has contributed to Goldendale’s front line as a freshman and hard server.

Goldendale opened league play with a pair of crushing wins over Cle Elum-Roslyn and Highland on the home volleyball court, showing off their multifaceted attack.

First to go down was Cle Elum-Roslyn, who struggled in the first game where Goldendale serves proved to be hard to handle. Their 6-foot middle hitter, Sara Ferguson was strong at the net, but she seldom saw a set to work with. On the other side, Sawyer Ross, Madison Holbrook, Bree Wandersheid and Brooke Graff fired a barrage of shots from all along the front line for Goldendale. Holbrook served up three aces in a row down the stretch which was finished with a kill shot by Wanderscheid deep to the Warriors’ backcourt for a 25-6...
