Goldendale women help with orphanage in Honduras

Having the opportunity to travel to a foreign country to help at an orphanage was impossible to refuse for Madison Holbrook. She and her mother, Paulette Lefever, joined a team from the Gorge to lend a hand at upgrading an aquaponics system in Honduras, even though they knew little about aquaponics. Helping other people, particularly with food systems is a way of life in their household.

The opportunity grew out of a garden tour that the Goldendale women participated in at the end of this past summer. One of the tour stops was at the home of Tim and Deanne Converse, of Carson.
