50 Years Ago – November 7, 1963

• Lynn Hill, of Goldendale, and Denny Jaekel, of Centerville, received the Pomona Grange trophies as outstanding girl and boy at the 4-H Achievement night program Saturday at the Grange hall. It was announced also that Geraldine Oliver, White Salmon, and Claudia Lenton, Glenwood, had been similarly honored at Lyle the previous night.

75 Years Ago – November 3, 1938

• With the aid of the Columbia River, Charles Ferguson, Cliffs sage, believes he has worked out a permanent solution to Klickitat County seat “squabbles.” His solution is guaranteed to be fair to both the east and west ends of the county. He would erect a new courthouse on a barge...
