There was a lot of talk at Java Talk on Nov. 15 of the prevailing wage. Mayor Baze says he feels it should be lower in Klickitat County. Without such high wages, projects could be larger with less cost. Unions hold a monopoly and take an advantage of prevailing wage laws, one person stated.

Baze also said the community center has to be acted upon to create an environment that welcomes everyone. Baze would like to tear down the Mt. Adams Care Center and put up a Community Center, possibly combined with a City Hall and R.V. Park.
