50 Years Ago – December 5, 1963

• Rimrock rancher, Laurence Schroder, reported that since September he has lost 25 breeding ewes, apparently the work of a pack of dogs. “We figure we’ve lost close to $1,000 a year in ewes and lambs killed by dogs,” and Schroder stated, “It isn’t only us – Norris’s, Millers, Saxtons and Maurers, have been persistent losers of sheep killed by dogs over a period of 10 years or so. They never come near our buildings, but slip into the flock from the fields.”
