Washington's health exchange site actually works

 

THUMBS UP: The Washington HealthPlanFinder web site has a message for state residents: sign up before the March 31 deadline.

In the midst of roiling turmoil over Obamacare web site roll-outs on the federal and state levels, there are few relatively successful accounts of online ventures. Washington State's Washington HealthPlanFinder is one of those.

As of yesterday, the Washington HealthPlanFinder web site had 496,606 Washington residents signed up through it for free or lower-cost coverage. More than 370,000 individuals who were previously covered through Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) have renewed their coverage through the site, for a total of more than 840,000 residents now signed up. The site is the envy of many other states.

Even with that success, the exchange is still looking to enroll as many more...
