Brown wins high jump over large entry at Don Holder Relays

The scene was somewhat surreal at the Don Holder Relays in Yakima, Saturday. A maze of orange construction zone fences filled the football field at Eisenhower High School, separating field event participants from one another and attempting to create a safety zone on a field that had javelins being flung from west to east and discus sailing from east to west. A huge entry from 33 schools wound their way through the alleyways and gave their all on a course with strong winds filled with dirt blowing from south to north.

Amid the spectacle, high school athletes focused on their sports and one from Bickleton came away with a win.
