Calling all photo enthusiasts, your photo can put $250 in your pocket

Lyle News

A last reminder of the Saturday, May 3, Lyle Lions Club “White Cane Awareness Day.” There will be a special donation box for this annual fundraiser, which goes to the Northwest Lions Foundation.  These proceeds are used to offset the cost of screening adults and children for vision loss, glaucoma, and diabetes; which is a leading cause of blindness. Their great breakfasts are your best bang for your buck. Omelets, fixed your way or ham and eggs, along with unending pancakes, $6 for adults; $3 for children six to 12 and children under six are free.

Again, on Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. the partners of the Twin Bridges Museum invite each of you to join their partnership by attending their next monthly meeting. Registration is free, and perhaps there may even be a tray of cookies to indulge your sweet tooth.

Photographer alert – I know there are talented photographers in our community… I’ve seen their work; so now is the time to get out and shoot - or clean out your files to submit some amazing images for the 2014 Klickitat County Visitor’s Guide! It’s time to brave the elements and take some magnificent spring photos of Klickitat County!  The Tourism Advocacy Council is working with the area chambers of commerce to find an amazing image for the cover of the 2014 Klickitat County Visitor Guide - and your photo could grace the cover and win you $250 for first place! Search your archives and submit up to three images for the contest, but they must be images of Klickitat County. There is no entry fee. Photos are due by May 1. For questions, contact the Chamber office at (509) 493-3630; details are also available at the Mt. Adams Chamber website at:

Another way to pocket $250 is the 10th annual Art & Wine Fusion Poster Contest. Deadline for artwork submissions is Thursday, May 15. All information can be found at, or White Salmon Arts Council, PO Box 2221, White Salmon, WA, 98672.
