Wanderscheid settles for second, Anderson makes cut at State golf

 


A third State title wasn’t in the stars this year for Bree Wanderscheid. The Goldendale senior who has dominated golf throughout her high school career couldn’t maintain a first round lead at the State golf tournament at Lake Spanaway, last week. She finishes her career with an impressive two State titles and two runner-up medals.

Wanderscheid held a two-stroke lead over Lauryn Keating after the first round of play, but the round wasn’t characteristic of Wanderscheid’s usual game. Wanderscheid and Keating were the only girls under 80 on the first day when 22 girls shot 89 or better to make the cut. Wanderscheid shot a 4-over-par 76 for the day.
