GHS technology students compete at national event in Washington D.C.

AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE: GHS students were recognized for their commitment to promoting the Technology Student Association (TSA) and technology education during the TSA national meeting. Left to right are: Michael Blomquist, Matthew Blomquist, Ben Wooden, Wyatt Mercer, and Nadia Smith.

Goldendale High School received the national chapter of excellence award for their commitment to promoting the Technology Student Association (TSA) and technology education at the TSA annual meeting in Washington D.C.

The Vex robotics team 5250G of Matthew Blomquist, Ben Wooden and Nadia Smith was a top 16 finalist. Smith also competed in Future Technology Teacher, Extemporaneous Presentation, and Career Prep categories. Mercer competed in Dragster Design and Transportation Modeling.

While at the nation's capital, the group toured the capital building and the monuments on the Washington Mall. Last Friday they toured the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
