Family Heritage: Michael E. Lyle identifies his great-grandfather, James O. Lyle in a family photo on display at the Twin Bridges Museum.

Michael E. Lyle, of Bonney Lake, the great-grandson of James O. Lyle, stopped in to visit the museum that honors his ancestors who founded our community. He brought his daughter to introduce her to her heritage and they both poured over books and photos in which he pointed out his father in one of them. He mentioned that he had brought other family members, on various times, to visit the family plot in Lyle-Balch Cemetery where they spent quality time cleaning the grave site; but did not know of the museum or his family's star role in it. He was very pleased to find information that he was not aware of and will be revisiting the museum with plans of obtaining copies of documents and photos. He offered that his step mother is in possession of more items that he would be willing to share.

The Columbia Grange is planning an event in the fashion of a community rummage sale on Saturday, July 26 and 27.  They need your help and donations to make the sale a success!  It will be run flea Market style with many community members having sales of their own.  The Grange will have a booth space and would gladly accept donated items to sell. There is no charge to participate this year; just bring your items and sell, sell, sell.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Grange booth will go into its coffers to continue their efforts in improving the building.  The more people that participate - the more successful this event will be.  This is the grange member's way to expose people to the grange and to cultivate a sense of community around it.  If you have no interest in selling, perhaps you know someone that does; and you can always support the cause as a buyer. Grange members sincerely hope that you will consider donating a few items for their sale - even an old inner-tube can be a coveted item for water recreation. Questions?
