PSE's energy does great things

Letter from the community

To the Editor:

Does anyone in our community and surrounding area ever wonder where the dollars come from to promote all the events, worthwhile causes and organizations we have? It doesn’t happen by chance.

Some communities, such as Goldendale, are fortunate to have a major benefactor who is always willing to provide monetary assistance to worthwhile community causes, organizations and events. Our benefactor, Puget Sound Energy (PSE), does not expect anything in return, except the knowledge and gratification they were able to be of help.

Just from 2013 to date PSE has donated to approximately 26 worthwhile causes, 14 organizations, 20 community events—and 2014 is not over yet.

Puget Sound Energy’s motto is “The Energy To Do Great Things,” and they have been doing great things for our community since their arrival. The next time you see Operations Manager Gerald Klug, or Karen Doolittle, Operating Support Specialist, or any one of the other employees of PSE, tell them thank you.

Then there are the dedicated businesses and citizens who are always there offering help, volunteering, building and promoting. Take a minute to thank all the sponsors listed on event posters—Puget Sound Energy, Allyn’s Building Center, City of Goldendale, AVISTA Natural Gas, Riverview Bank, Republic Services, Klickitat County, Goldendale Sentinel, Haystack Broadcasting, and many more. If you know someone who works tirelessly on worthwhile causes, donating time to organizations or volunteering at the events, tell them, “Thanks.”

And at the next event or worthwhile fund raiser, tell those volunteers thank you! Without them we would truly be without!
