Smoother, safer drive coming to Klickitat County highways

 


Drivers traveling along State Route 141, State Route 14 and US 197 should plan for delays through the end of August while crews make improvements to more than 70 miles of deteriorating pavement on the roadways.

On Monday, Aug. 11, contractor crews will begin preservation work on SR 141 at the Skamania County line and make their way toward Bingen. Work will continue on SR 14 between Bingen and Maryhill, and along US 197 from the Oregon state line to SR 14. This work is expected to be complete by the end of the month.

The chip-sealing will require single lane driving with pilot cars. Drivers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes and a reduced, 35 mph speed zone intended to prevent vehicles...
