GHS gets new top administrators

SETTING THE COURSE: New Goldendale High School administrators, Principal John Westerman, left and vice Principal Andy Maheras compare notes as they prepare for the new school year.

Goldendale High School administration will have a fresh start this year with former principal Clay Henry and former vice Principal Lance DenBoer moving to Kiona-Benton High School. The moves have resulted in three new faces filling key roles at GHS.

The new principal is John Westerman. Westerman comes to Goldendale after a 32-year career at Eastmont, in Wenatchee, most recently serving as the junior high school principal. Westerman is a long-time resident of the East Wenatchee area, having grown up in Waterville, a small, agricultural based town about 27 miles northeast of Wenatchee.
