KPUD announces planned service outages in western parts of county

Approximately 1,800 Klickitat PUD customers in Dallesport, Murdock, Lyle, High Prairie, Appleton, and Timber Valley will experience an eight-hour electric service outage from 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, until 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.

This also includes customers on Lyle-Snowden Road, Canyon Road, McGowan Road, Fisher Hill Road, Old Highway 8, Schilling Road, Hartland Road, Oak Creek Road, the Dallesport Industrial Park, the Stacker Butte microwave and communication sites, and portions of Centerville Highway, Highway 14, and Highway 142.

The main reason for this outage is that the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) will be performing maintenance on transmission lines that serve KPUD substations. KPUD will be taking advantage of this BPA outage and performing maintenance on its transmission lines as well.

Notices were sent out to the billing address of affected customers on Aug. 1st.

For more information, call (800) 548-8357 and ask for the Operations Department.
