Harpole brother flies in for a visit in World War II replica airplane

 


Hey, all you crafters, farmers, ranchers and rodeo fans… have you gotten your fair entries ready? The County Fair is opening this Thursday, Aug. 21, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 24. Where ever your interests lie, there is always excitement in finding out who won what color of ribbon; win, place or show…it’s all great. Those judges can be so judgmental!

This week, Vern Harpole was visited by his brother Mark, who flew his experimental, self-built, World War II RV8 airplane solo from Atlanta, Georgia. The plane was painted to look like one of the Flying Tigers’ P-40 Fighter plane that his father-in-law flew during World War II for the Chinese allies against the Japanese. The plane...
