Loss to Lightning enhances Wolves' urgency for a win

FRESHMAN SUPPORT: Abby Mains provided some size at the net for Goldendale against La Salle. Mains, Sierra Plum and Bailee Johnson have logged quality time for the Wolves as freshmen.

Goldendale was looking for a change in momentum in volleyball at Highland on Tuesday. The Lady Timberwolves are in need of league wins after dropping their home match to La Salle last week. The loss left Goldendale with a 2-5 record and two games out of fourth place in the SCAC west.

For awhile it felt like Goldendale might have a turn in their fortunes in the middle of their match against La Salle. They lost the opener 25-17 and hung close in game two before falling 25-21.

Game three was a thrilling win for the Lady Wolves. Ocean Bryan came up big with a series of blocks and Kirstin Twohy scored on four kills that helped Goldendale to a 25-23 win. The game was even through the first few...
