Pot luck leaves some distasteful leftovers in town

 


Pot luck has prevailed.

A city’s passions were too late aroused. The city administration acted too matter-of-factly, and the city council was lulled to sleep behind the wheel, reflecting the passivity of the town in general. And now the fate so many could not conceive of befalling it has come to pass. The retail marijuana store is legal and operating because state law says if a business has done everything by the book before a moratorium is placed in effect, the moratorium and the city are powerless to deny it operation. That’s a broad simplification but essentially accurate.
