Fourth quarter Lightning strikes end Timberwolf playoff hopes

BIG GAME FOR TY: Tyrell Read had a big night against La Salle, gaining 143 yards on 25 touches, including the run above for a first down.

There was a lot at stake on Friday when Goldendale took on the La Salle Lightning in a battle for a playoff berth in the SCAC West. Although the Timberwolves had just one league win, they controlled their own destiny where a win would have forced a four team play-off, given that Granger won their final game against Cle Elum-Roslyn. The outcome was in doubt up to the final minute, but the Lightning claimed the playoff spot with a 41-27 win.

Goldendale was slow out of the blocks, but half-way through the first quarter it was clear it would be a battle to the end. Tyrell Read had a great night running the ball and his circus catch in the first quarter was a highlight of the game.
