Grapplers split double dual, fifth as team at Stevenson

Goldendale wrestlers split their dual matches last week, defeating Highland 42-34 and losing to league powerhouse Naches Valley 66-18.

The Wolves got their points against Highland through forfeit wins by Daniel Wedgewood, Jesse Call, Bryce Wilkins, Ruben Finn, Zane Cully and Cameron Read. Demetrius McCoy pinned Arnold Pahan in the first round at 182 pounds for the only mat win. Leroy Miller lost 10-0 at 145 pounds.

Against the Rangers, it was Wilkins with the only mat win, a pin over Sean Casey in less than one minute. McCoy and Cully each won by forfeit.
