To the Editor:

In response to the proposed PUD project, the following are facts that I obtained through The Goldendale Sentinel and the Federal Regulatory Energy Commission (FERC).

The cost of the project is estimated to be around $2 billion with generation of 1,200 megawatts (MWH). According to information supplied by FERC, a similar project would yield approximately 3,500 gigawatts (GWH) per year based on 1,200 MWH at eight peak time hours per day for 365 days a year. FERC statistics for 2006 through 2013 show that for the Northwest Power Pool (Mid Columbia), the on-peak pricing ranged from $22.50 per MWH in 2012 to $65 per MWH in 2008.
