GHS artist recipient of scholarship for Pucker Huddle art

AWARD WINNING ARTIST: Eileen Kelsey, Goldendale High School senior received a $1,000 scholarship to Central Washington University, presented by CWU art department chair, Gregg Schlanger, during Sunday award ceremonies in Yakima for the ESD 105 Regional Art Show. The award was based on judging of her pencil art shown above. Kelsey was also one of two artists whose work was chosen for the permanent display and purchased for $250 by the ESD 105 board.

Five pieces by area high school artists will be advancing to OSPI's statewide Superintendent's High School Art Show later this spring after being chosen as standouts among the 80 entries in this year's ESD 105 Regional High School Art Show.

In addition, Goldendale High School student, Eileen Kelsey was a recipient of a $1,000 scholarship to Central Washington University. The scholarship was presented during the 2015 regional show's opening reception, Sunday at JA World in Yakima. Kelsey was selected for her colored pencil art titled "The Man from Pucker Huddle." Her teacher at GHS is Scott Gray.
