Wolves and Pirates top teams at Stanfield

YOUNG GUNS: One of Goldendale's freshman speedsters, Sierra Clear takes the baton in the 4x100 relay.

Goldendale's track and field team is on a roll. On Tuesday, last week, the Timberwolf boys and girls swept their head to head to head meet against Granger, Mabton and Naches Valley. On Saturday, they dominated the Dick Horyna Invitational in Stanfield, Ore.

Timberwolf boys and girls won half of the field events. The girls took five of 11 races and the boys ran off with seven wins of the 10 running events. It even went deeper than that with Goldendale boys taking 12 of the top 24, top three places and the girls grabbed 11.

Rachel Disch, Ocean Bryan and Sierra Simmons were double winners for the girls. Disch won both sprints while Bryan was winner of both hurdle events. Simmons won the sh...
