Generosity of donors shows commitment to education and GHS graduates

The Goldendale High School class of 2015

More than $380,000 in scholarship money was awarded Friday night at Goldendale High School's graduation.

Recipients were:

Samantha Adams: KVET Marcelle Montgomery Scholarship $250, renewable for 3 years, $1,000 total; Klickitat Valley Education Trust $1,000, renewable for 3 years, $4,000 total.

Drew Bowdish: Centerville Grange 81 Marilyn Sarsfield Memorial Scholarship $500; Klickitat Valley Education Trust $1,000, renewable for 3 years, $4,000 total.

Tanner Bradley: Vernon College National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Scholarship $5,600.

Emmalyn Christensen: Klickitat Valley Health Memorial Foundation Board of commissioners Scholarship $500; Klickitat Valley Health Memorial Foundation Healthcare Scholarship $500; Lowell Erland Memorial $1,000; Health Career Scholarship (provided by Drs. Ogden, Reimche-Vu, Bryant, Garnett and East Cascade Physical Therapy Clinic) $1,500; Bruckert Scholarship Fund $1,000, renewable for 1 year, $2,000 total; Klickitat Valley Education Trust $1,000, renewable for 3 years, $4,000 total.

Joshua Flansberg: Bruckert Scholarship Fund $1,000, renewable for 1 year, $2,000 total.

Mattern Science Scholarship $1,000 first semester; renewable second semester, $2,000 total; Washington State University Undergraduate Research Scholarship $2,500; Washington State University Regents Scholar $4,000 per year for 4 years, $16,000 total.

2015 Citizenship Award: Each year the Goldendale High School staff selects one male and one female student for the honor. This year's recipients are: Tanner Tallman and Raven Java-McCandless.
