Proposal for change to sign gets strong push-back

 


Goldendale School District Superintendent Mark Heid made a pitch last week to the city council to change the reader board sign over Columbus Avenue to a Timberwolves sign in support of the district.

He might have made his pitch to the community at large first.

Judging from Facebook response and walk-in comments, his proposal is opposed by an overwhelming percentage of residents. The most common reaction is the sign is for and should represent the whole city community, not just the school. One person wrote on Facebook that Heid’s proposed sign should be at the school, not on the reader board.
