Ralph McKinney

Ralph Curtis McKinney was born October 6, 1928 in Blackfoot, Idaho to parents Mary Ollie (Taylor) and Benjamin M. McKinney. He passed away in The Dalles, Oregon on September 22, 2015 at the age of 86. Ralph was drafted into the United States Army on November 10, 1950 and served his country in the Korean War. He was honorable discharged from military service on October 27, 1952. On September 24, 1955, he married Ruth Van Horn in Goldendale, Washington. Ralph worked in well drilling, as a logger and for the Klickitat County Road Department. He was a member of the American Legion, Klickitat County Historical Society and the Old Time Fiddlers. Ralph enjoyed fiddling, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, building model railroad sets, trail motor biking and later four wheeling. He is survived by his wife Ruth of Goldendale; daughter Cindy Quantrell and her husband Ken; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his siblings Ward T. McKinney, Genevieve Hall, Dorothy Thompson, Goldie MacKay, Raymond McKinney, Opal Louise Thompson and Lois Lewis.

A private graveside was held at Spring Creek Cemetery in Goldendale on Friday, September 25. A memorial service was held at the American Legion Hall in Goldendale on Saturday, September 26 at 11 a.m.
