50 Years Ago - October 7, 1965

• The first tenant moved into the recently completed Shepler building in Goldendale Tuesday. Furniture for a Goldendale branch office of Robert Dalson Accountants, of Yakima, was moved into 116 West Main Street. Bernard and Harold Shepler tore down the old Town Tavern building to erect the modern office building on the site this summer.

75 Years Ago - October 10, 1940

• Old timers in this community may recall George Smith Cruson, now 98 year old Auburn resident. Cruson, a pioneer in this county operated the first brick kiln in Goldendale many years ago. He fought in the Indian Wars and was a veteran of the Civil War.
