Rural 7 lifts burn ban as of Halloween

 


Klickitat County Rural 7 Fire and Rescue Board of Commissioners have declared the burn ban in Rural 7 be lifted as of midnight, Oct. 31. However, burn permits are still required to burn. The agency advises residents to check their burn permits. The current permits are green in color and have an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2016 in the upper left hand corner. Failure to obtain or possess a current permit will result in a citation and suppression cost to extinguish fire.

The district is asking those burning to use caution. In the event of an escaped fire, suppression fees and a citation may be issued holding person or persons responsible.

As a reminder, burn barrels are illegal and violators...
