Beatrice Miller

Beatrice Edna Miller was born Sept. 25, 1918, to C.F. and Alma Schuster at Pleasant Valley. She attended grade school by horseback at Pleasant Valley. She then went to Goldendale High School, graduating in 1936. She married James Miller in 1939. They ranched in the Roosevelt area until retirement and moved to Goldendale in the early 1980s. James and Bea were married 72 years!

Bea was an avid gardener, both in her beautiful yard and with her collection of house plants, especially African Violets. She was an outstanding seamstress, cook and a warm and wonderful hostess. She was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Hardy of Rhode Island, and brother, Art Schuster of Goldendale, and her life partner, James, who passed in 2012.

Beatrice is survived by her devoted caregivers and 15 nieces and nephews. There are many great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. There are even more who will fondly remember her as "Aunt Bea."

A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale with a graveside service following at Mountain View IOOF Cemetery. Please send condolences to the family at http://www.gardnerfh.com.
