Nelson's three-point barrage leads Cougars to win over Dufur

ROOM TO DRIVE: Lyle-Wishram guard Desean Leslie found room in the first half to penetrate the South Wasco defense. Those lanes were plugged later in the game and as South Wasco dominated the second half and forced the Cougars into an outside shooting game.

Gavyn Nelson knocked down six three-point shots to lead Lyle-Wishram to a 65-31 win over Dufur and salvage an Oregon split on the week for the Cougar boys. Nelson hit five three-point shots earlier in the week in a home loss to South Wasco County.

The first half against the Redsides of South Wasco was played evenly, but from the start, Lyle-Wishram relied on three-point shots to keep pace. After a half-time adjustment, South Wasco tightened their defense and seemed to get their offense into synch, allowing them to run away with the game.
