Pirates finish strong for win at Trout Lake in league opener

MUSCLING IN: Kyle Underwood tries to get to the hoop along the baseline against Trout Lake, Friday. Bickleton overpowered the Mustangs for a 51-28 league win.

Following a lack-luster first quarter in which neither team seemed interested in scoring, Bickleton exploded for 20 in the second quarter and ran off to a 51-28 win over Trout Lake in the league opener for both teams. More specifically, it was Nathan Powers who seemed to tire of the pace of the first quarter. The Bickleton senior scored 13 of his game high 21 points in the second quarter, hitting a three-point shot and three two-point shots on 4-5 shooting from the field. He was sent to the foul line for seven shots in the quarter, hitting four. Powers also had a pair of steals and five rebounds in the quarter.

Nine Pirates contributed to the scoring, with Troy Roberts hitting for eight....
