Defense leads Pirates to trophy at Helix tournament

Lady Pirates suffer devastating injuries

 


Bickleton used intense defensive pressure to win in dominating style at the Helix Tournament. The Pirates held Walla Walla Christian Academy to one point in the first half and rolled to a 57-12 win in their opening game. Nathan Powers led 11 Pirates who put points on the board with 12 points. Riley Brown and Henry Pond had five steals each in the game.

The title game was against a familiar opponent, Klickitat-Glenwood. The Vandal-Eagles reached the title game by defeating Helix 50-15 behind Rylee Holycross’ 21 points. Jordan Templeton and Baylee Couch scored six each, Easton Atchley had four points for Klickitat-Glenwood.
