Lorelie Lammers

Lorelie Lammers died peacefully surrounded by family in her home on March 4, 2016 in Goldendale, Washington at the age of 82. Lorelie is survived by her children, Paulette Shibley, Bob Shibley, David Shibley, and Merry Kleven all from Goldendale Washington, Janelle Kelley of Portland, Oregon, Jerry Shibley of Wyola, Montana, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Claudette Hernandez, Seattle, Washington, 2005 and her son John Shibley, Brightwood, Oregon, 2012.

Lorelie was born June 19, 1933 in Hardin, Montana to Grace (Cronk) and Edward Lammers. After raising eight children she returned to school and graduated from Mt Hood Community College in 1971 with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She went on to work as a Respiratory Therapist for Providence Health System at St Vincent Hospital until 1975, then Director of Respiratory Therapy at St Josephs Hospital in Vancouver Washington until her retirement in 1983.

Lorelie, an accomplished pianist, played for Sunday Worship Service at White Salmon United Methodist Church for 27 years. She shared her talent, providing piano lessons to many students, some moving on to become accomplished musicians. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, she was a nutrition enthusiast as well as provided healing through spirituality for many.

Her character is most eloquently depicted by her grandson Jake who wrote on the day of her passing "One of the great influences in my life has left this world today. The impact that she had on this world was felt by not only those that she had met, but through them and their actions. She was wise, gentle, kind and loving to all. Through her teachings, she raised a family full of love, understanding, and acceptance of all. She taught us all that family is a bond not only through blood, but through love. Being with you, and family helped me to know that you truly aren't gone. Your smile, your laugh, your kindness and love is still in everyone that you leave behind."

A memorial gathering will be held at the family home on Lorelie's birthday, June 19, 2016. Please visit http://www.gardnerfh.com to send condolences to the family.
