Chicken recalled from area stores

 


Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation is recalling an additional 376,380 pounds of fully cooked chicken products that may have been contaminated with extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Monday. The recall is at the most serious level of risk possible.

Pilgrim’s Pride products are carried nationwide in Safeway, Kroger (which supplies Fred Meyer stores), and IGA. The company is the country’s largest provider of poultry products. Some schools have purchased their products through the company’s institutional sales channel.
