Andrew Gerchak top Wolf, makes cut with Wilkins at State golf tournament

 


Goldendale’s Andrew Gerchak and Bryce Wilkins made the cut after the first round of the State tournament, last week at Liberty Lake Golf Course, in Spokane. Wilkins shot an 83 and Gerchak was in at 84 to make it into the top 39 and earn the right to play a second, championship round.

Gerchak improved to a 79 on day two for an overall 163, finishing in a four-way tie for 18th place, 25 strokes behind the winner, Nick Baker, of Cle Elum-Roslyn. It was Gerchak’s second appearance at State. He placed 16th last year.

Wilkins had a tougher time with the second 18 holes, shooting an 87 for a 170 total and 28th place.

Two other Timberwolves, Luke Gerchak and Daniel Wedgwood missed the cut. Ge...
