Kiwanis tournament raises $6,700 for books

 


Reading the green took on a whole new meaning last Saturday as the Goldendale Kiwanis Club held their annual golf tournament to raise money for books.

Eleven teams consisting of 63 players took part in the event at Goldendale Golf Club. The winning team was settled in a chip-off after Get a Grip, from Yakima and Cannon Power Hitters, of Goldendale tied with a 13 under par 59. Get a Grip won the chip-off and first place. Third place went to Strokes & A Putz.

The event raised $6,700 through pin sponsorships, entry fees and green games. Justin Fields won longest putt on number 1/10 and Doug Lamb won longest putt on 6/15.

The Kiwanis distributed 2,350 books last year. Books are passed out dur...
